Oh Happy Day - Faruque Ahmed gets Smacked Down

Holocaust denying lunatic and Indymedia regular, Faruque Ahmed sued an Australian talkback radio station for blacklisting him, and lost.

Background on Ahmed here and here.

His original gripe with the radio station is here (my notes here) and Melbourne Indymedia is also reporting it, replete with the full transcript.

The comments will be priceless.

It looks like Ahmed (the loser) may also have to pay court costs.

He represented himself. Never has the old saying about a fool for a lawyer been more true.

Update: Via comments on this post:
The comments won't be as priceless as you think... One of Sydney Indymedia's moderators has hidden any discussion of Ahmed's court case from that thread.

However, the parent post 'Zio-Report' remains on the newswire.

Discussion of racist anti-Semites is verboten, however discussion by racist anti-Semites it seems are quite okay for SIM.
It also appears that Sydney Indymedia is being held to ransom:
It has been pointed out that the 'Zio-report' (formerly known as Zionazi report, but toned down a notch) is permitted once a week as a concession to stop 'someone' (Faruque Ahmed) from spamming hundreds of repeat articles. In other words, if they let him post it once a week, he promises to behave.
If this is the case, isn't it nice to see Sydney Indymedia standing up for themselves in such a morally upright manner?

Update: A comment on Sydney Indymedia gives more background into Faruque Ahmed (not that you should need any to form a sensible conclusion).

e.g. references to "Zionazi Occupation Forces (ZOF)" as well as baseless accusations of murder and genocide.

It is essentially capitulation to blackmail, however despite finding the material horribly and personally offensive, I put up with it, on the basis that it was easier to call him for what he was in a single weekly post, then deal with dozens of the same thing daily.

The double standards on Sydney Indymedia however, permitting his bile, while hiding relevant material about his character, are disgraceful.

Via email, I pointed out to Sydney Indymedia's moderators that the discussion (which I posted under the handle Nazihunter) of his court case was entireley relevant to Sydney, as Faruque Ahmed himself had posted his brief to their newswire originally (link is in your post as well). Certainly, that material is more relevant to a Sydney newswire than anything about other countries and especially untrue and clearly anti-Semitic stories about Israel.

Regrettably, this distinction appears to have been lost on them.

It seems that the mods on SIMC can't accept that Faruque could have that much hatred without being, in some way, a victim.

Any discussion of their tolerance for Faruque's bile tends to get censored for being 'a personal attack' on either one particular mod or Faruque himself.

In completely unrelated news, this exchange is fairly funny.

After discussion with one of the Sydney Indymedia moderators, who argued that my reference to the court case was irrelevant to the 'Zio report' (ugh) and hidden as a result, I have posted the information as a standalone article here.

Noting that the 'Zio report' continues to remain online, it will be interesting to see the outcome of this new piece.

To my surprise, Sydney Indymedia hasn't hidden the standalone article about Faruque Ahmed's court case I mentioned earlier.

Of course they haven't hidden the Zio-Report either...

Ahmed's case has (briefly) made the mainstream press. Sydney Morning Herald report.
